Ian MacKenzie is a passionate artist dedicated to weaving visions of the possible, believing that if we can’t envision a future that works for all life, we are more likely to hold on to the familiar even when it’s clear it has become obsolete. Over the last 15+ years, he has used a variety of media—film, writing, photography, podcasting—to amplify seedlings of emergent culture, from the desert of Burning Man to the heart of Occupy Wall Street. His work includes films such as Sacred Economics, Amplify Her, and Lost Nation Road. More recently, he began exploring masculinity through The Mythic Masculine podcast and created the live series A Gathering of Stories. His work spans themes of activism, culture, relationships, and emergence as facets to understand the question: how might humanity reach a thriving future? Most of his work is offered online in the spirit of the gift, inviting reciprocity to sustain his efforts.
