The Enneagram Institute

Institute
The Enneagram is a tool for self-knowledge, offering workshops and courses that help you see yourself at a deeper, more objective level and understand your relationships to human nature.

The Enneagram Institute was created in 1997 by the late Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson to further research and development of the Enneagram, one of the most powerful and insightful tools for understanding ourselves and others. At its core, the Enneagram helps us see ourselves at a deeper, more objective level and can be of invaluable assistance on the path to self-knowledge. Based in Stone Ridge, New York, the Enneagram Institute presents and sponsors workshops and courses devoted to the many unique aspects of the Enneagram and their relationships to human nature.

Why It Matters: Genuine self-knowledge requires tools that help us see ourselves objectively—including patterns and motivations we normally cannot perceive—and the Enneagram offers one of the most comprehensive frameworks for this deeper seeing. By advancing research and development of the system while making it accessible through workshops and courses, Riso and Hudson built infrastructure for the Enneagram to reach people seeking to understand themselves and improve their relationships with others. The focus on human nature rather than simple personality typing positions the Enneagram as a path to transformation, not just categorization.
